• Men are continually creating new sperms cells while women are born with a finite supply of eggs (oocytes).
   
• The number of eggs and their quality declines with age. A female fetus has 6 to 7 million eggs at 20 weeks development. At birth that number reduces to 1 to 2 million eggs and at puberty only 300,000 viable eggs remain

• Embryos differ from eggs as they are unfertilized.
   
• In Italy freezing embryos is illegal. Italy allows couples to create up to three embryos per IVF cycle and all embryos must be transferred to the woman’s uterus per cycle.
